Version 8.0 UI Background, Font spacing, Account Icon

(1) I suggest make the selection color clear. Currently, on the light design, it is mere 5% grey, which is hardly decernable. On the dark design, selection is a full 98% black, which is even more troublesome.
Anyway Selection should include a checkbox mark, not just a background color, for usability and “inclusion” reasons, as most applications do, and such things are easy to code. I’m not against a fixed background color, where some pink made sense (and I used it too earlier).

(2) the font spacing in the message list has become ugly. Characters are spread perhaps a pixel or so, it reminds like Helvetica printing on an original Mac and original LaserWriter (printed as Arial, spaced as Helvetica…). I can’t post a screenshot obviously. Font size is “Smaller” for Sender and Re (“Kleiner” in my language, which is german) and “Standard” for Preview.

(3) the account icons are no good. I get a (T4) on all of them, because the second letter in my domain is a “4” character. Happily the colors discern them and I have a moderate number of accounts.

Since there is no Feedback or Suggestions section, I post in the Support section. Version is of course 8.0 by “About”, and also 8.0 when diving deep in Android.

I hope we get this minor issues right, soon. Thanks.

The account icon content should obviously not go off the domain after the @, but off the text before the @ sign, probably taking into account the dots before the @ sign when there are.

Such that hypothetical Milly.Miller@gmain.comm does not become GM, but MM, and Alex.Miller@gmain.comm does become AM but not the same GM .

Could it be that just a misspelled regexp creates the account badges? Encourage to look into it …
