Un update possible?

Is it possible to undo the latest (not asked for) update?

Not to be too critical of a free program, but the newest change has at least one DUMB change.

In the previous version, selected messages were pink and read messages were light grey. So if you wanted to delete a number of messages at once, it was OBVIOUS what you were deleting.

In the most recent forced upon me downgrade, selected AND already read messages are the same light grey!

So, while I look for something better in the way of an email program, one that doesn’t sneak in bad programming decisions, is it possible to go back a version?

See How to downgrade to an earlier version?

Save settings in K-9/TB, then uninstall and install an older version from the Github page

Is it possible to change only the layout to the old design ?
It was much better !
To reinstall with an older version seems not a good solution.

Thanks! I’ve done so, eleven times now, in fact, trying to find a version with a non-stupid UI. No luck so far. You really wonder if the developers actually use the app …

john_masefield, the last stable version with the old, perfect, and useful UI, is K-9 Mail v6.804.
You can get it from here:

I am staying with K-9 6.804 on my Chromebook, which can run many Android applications. I have NEVER seen so much negativity against a software update. Are the developers even paying attention to that intense negativity?

I did check but the old fabulous 5.6 will no longer install on this version of Android.

I tested after uninstalling this latest debacle.

They are not going to change while you still use it. Proven consistently over several years.

So don’t support it.

Vote with your feet and find a new client. There are lots. Perhaps even pay for one - devs are more receptive…

It was painful to wave farewell. But it’s the only message that gets through.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

THAT’S the one I was looking for! Many thanks. I was almost ready to switch to MS Lookout.

Hello everyone,

I have many mailboxes at WEB.DE and after the last update I had the following problem.

In the name view circle, only “WE” is displayed for each mailbox, which means I can’t really distinguish between the mailboxes.

The correct name is under account name.
How can I show the account name instead of the WE’s in the overview?

Many thanks

No. Reverting the interface, at least temporarily, or allowing the user to choose either interface should be relatively simple.

The developers don’t care.

I’ve seen people blatantly told a new feature they didn’t like wasn’t changing.

It was, “too bad.”

Someone has convinced Mozilla in particular that they’re the only option.

There are Firefox bugs that have sat unfixed for YEARS.

I’ve got Thunderbird on the PC slowing to a CRAWL when it’s fetching emails, and it’s doing it on 3 PCs. Has been for the last several versions.

I’m moving on. I’m actively testing other clients, and found one I really like.
