Mhh, could it be that the width of your screen was too small to show that icon? On my S7 it is visible. IfI turn it in landscape mode it shows even more icons which had been in 3dot menu before. So I would assume it is a layout issue

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! move the delete button back to the bottom!!! Going thru emails is now so incredibly annoying as it it impossible to scroll thru emails and delete them using only one hand! Why would you make this change where it makes the app more difficult to use?

I like the buttons at the top much better. The way I hold my phone, it’s easier to reach the top. It’s also more consistent with the way old k-9 5.6 worked on a tablet. But I’m stuck with them at the bottom because I’m back at 5.6 for other reasons.
If you move them back to the bottom, at least make it a selectable option.

Yes, if it is moved again then it should be made optional if top or bottom

Try the apk named “Email: Fast & Secure mail for all mailbox” from “Tiny Entertainment”. In this vietnamese fork of the old K-9 , the buttons are at the top.

The ability to select top or bottom for the buttons would be great. One handed use of the app is difficult with the buttons at the top for sure

I also would like to opt for a configurable option to get back the buttons at the bottom, to allow proper one-hand usage again.
As this request is very popular and already filed on Github, why not support it with a bug bounty?

Please move them down again, or at least make it configurable!
AND please bring back the overview on start, where all accounts where on one screen with the number of unread an favorites.
It became realy uncomfortable!

Could it be against some newer design demands for Android?
Material design seems to allow both top and bottom app bars (I looked at https://matetial.io). But I have to admit that I am not an Android developer so I might have missed something
Yes I think you are right @stphn . It is even explicitly allowed as far as I can see: Material Design - bottom bars
So if it is not Material Design that is prohibiting bottom bars, then what else could it be …

So I finally decided to upgrade to the newer version (reduced my usage from 2 accounts to one account so lack of overview screen wasn’t a showstopper anymore) and it seems that it works just fine but… top buttons are driving me nuts. It was always so convenient to operate k9mail with one hand and all actions were easily available with single-hand mode (I have small hands and recently got new device which is even bigger… grrrr with the makers of the phones nowadays) and it’s impossible to operate k9mail conveniently now. I either have to move my hand or use second hand to do anything.
PLEAAASE add option to move the action bars to the bottom!

I’m new to K9 Mail, and I must say I’m impressed! I really like the unified inbox and the unified inbox widget. I just downloaded the beta version to get the ability to swipe messages from the inbox, and that really helped make the app more usable!
I’m commenting here to request that the buttons within messages be moved to the bottom as well. All my phones are too large to reach the top of the screen with one hand. Moving the delete and other buttons to the bottom of this screen would make K9 Mail nearly perfect!
