Limit number of downloaded emails

Have more 20.000 mails, although in setting only 50 to read from providers.

What’s wrong?
When I delete all, is it possible to download the last 50 mail again?

Got a new Samsung phone and transferred K-9. Imap account. Now when i compose an email to send, it goes to an Outbox and never gets sent. I was sending email message for several days, and getting no response. What gives?
