Very quiet in here

Last post that I am seeing was five days ago

Is everybody now happy with K-9?
Is there a problem with the forum?
Are people holding discussions somewhere else?

Did you disable new user registrations @cketti? I don’t see any new accounts since 2024-12-18, the day there was the huge flood of spam

I did. And I thought I had re-enabled registrations two days after that. But it looks like that wasn’t the case. I re-enabled new user registrations just now.

Thanks for catching this.

Maybe just everyone waiting for the next release to come out and cause more bugs…

And just like the the spam attacks have resumed. Automatic flagging by keywords may be useful here. Severly rate limiting new accounts would certainly help, too.

There is an option that the first post of new accounts needs to be reviewed. Didn’t you enable that one, @cketti?

Edit: Looks like it wasn’t enabled. I just took the liberty to enable that setting before we get even more spam.

Nice, that’ll mean less posts/threads to report/flag! Thanks muchly :sunglasses:

Might be worthwhile to add more moderators.

Last time, I flagged somewhat felt like a hundred posts until I myself was blocked due to obsessive flagging… Would have flagged more, but wasn’t allowed for 24 hours. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yea I had that a while ago too … soooo frustrating :imp:

I presume the same miscreants were also defacing the HestiaCP forum as it was also littered with nearly identical posts using the same practice of marking one of the replies as the “solution” during the same time-frame.

Discourse could use an option to lock, or even automatically ban, new accounts that post in that pattern.
