Unified Inbox - emails disappear after being read?

Is there any way to prevent this behavior? I know the emails are still in the individual account inbox(es) and changing their status back to unread puts them back in the Unified Inbox, but that is kind of tedious.

I see that there is a K-9 Unread Email Widget that may or may not be affecting this behavior, but I cannot find any reference to widgets in the app.

Do you perhaps have Sort set to “Read/Unread”? That can make it look
like read messages have disappeared.

Try setting Sort to “Date”.

Read messages don’t disappear from Unified, for me, with Sort set to “Date”.

Yep, that was it. I never changed the sort from the default and thought it was by date.
