Unable to set up K9Mail

Im here from the Google Play store.

“I used to use this app a LONG time ago and had no problems with it. Im now trying to use it again with the same exact email address, and it won’t even get past the first setup screen.”

(I guess since I’m a new user, I can’t attach more than one screenshot, so forget it.)

Mediacom

The error indicates your phone is unable to connect to Mediacom’s imap server port 993.

The mediacom server name and port number in your screen shot are correct, as reported here.

Mediacom are geoblocking connections. A scan on Imap port 993 reports open when I VPN to the USA, but closed from other locations.

  • If you’re located within the USA, try disabling any VPN, Antivirus or Security apps on your phone.
  • If you’re outside the USA, try a VPN with USA selected as the location.
