Unable to attach attachment

Hi,

cannot attach attachment. When I start an email or reply or forward and click the “add attachment button” the file browser opens, I am able to select one or more files. But they do not attach. Just nothing happens. It returns to the email, which is still without an attachment.

But: When I start directly the file browser (without using K9 at all), then select a or several files and then click “distribute by email” or “email” or whatever, so that K9 opens, then: Tata! the attachment is/are attached.

Well, that workaround is not really suitable, because it necessarily starts a new email. And often you want to reply or forward an existing mail adding an attachment - what just does not work this way.

My K9 is up to date. Problem exists since several.months. did not find hints online or here. booted phone several times and also de- and reinstalled K9. Problems still occurs.

What file browser do you use? The one shipped with your phone or a custom one you installed? Try using the one shipped with the phone (make sure that you have not disabled the app). Only that app can properly grant storage access permissions when launched from within K-9.

thanks for your quick answer. Yes, I used a different file browser (MixPlorer). I have a Samsung Galaxy A53 which comes with its file browser which I did not update and use anymore.

Did not find out which browser K9 used. And how to set the standard file browser as default.

So I simply uninstalled the MixPlorer. Did not change a thing. Still not working with the attachments.

Any idea?
