Sound notifications

I’ve set my email notification sound using Zedge and now when i receive email i get an error message . It must be how I’m setting the notification and/or the application doesn’t work with Zedge.

Would you please let me know how to set a notification or at least return to the state that it was initially?

TIA
Teresa

Welcome @tnt17402

What’s the error message you’re seeing?

Have you tried setting a notification sound via Android’s app info screen?

It sounds like your phone isn’t finding the sounds. What I do with Zedge sounds is first download them then put them in the Notifications folder on device storage.

Thanks but how do I do that?

There should be an option that says “save to media folder” when you hit the download button in the app. The app then saves sounds to a folder something like this onto your phone: Android/data/net.zedge.android/files/zedge.

Use a file manager (the stock one should be fine) to move it to the notifications folder.

Or you just go to the website zedge.net & directly download them (unless you’re using premium sounds – they’re app only) to that folder after setting browser downloads to “ask where to save”.

I’ve downloaded the sound to my media folder but I can’t find it now … let alone load it into K-9.

I feel so stupid.

I just downloaded a sound from the Zedge app to test and “Download to media folder” downloaded it to my Internal Storage “Ringtones” folder. Maybe check there?

That means your device sound picker you use to set a notification tone should see it. Depending on your device that could be under “My Sounds” or something similar.

Well, I went into T-Mobile yesterday to see if they could fix the issue. They were able to change the sound notification for email but they told me my phone was too old to make my text message and email notification different.

So I guess my question is how do I reset my K9 app to what is was before so I quit getting an error message whenever I get email?

Any help would be appreciated!
