Im trying to set up K-9 on my new Kyocera phone. I read through this article: How to use a Gmail/Google Workspace account with K-9 Mail? and followed the steps. Turned on 2-Step, generated an app specific password, but I don’t see anywhere to enter the password. I type in my email and it just shows a “sign in with gmail button” but hitting that takes me to the browser which just says “Access blocked: K-9 Mail’s request does not comply with Google’s policies“ as the title. Any idea how to get this working? Where can I even enter the App Password? I was never even prompted to do that.

If you are using an app Password, you need to switch you authentication from OAuth 2.0 to Normal Password. It has happened in the past that K-9 Mail lost its authorization for OAuth 2.0 setup. This incident shows that it was resolved. I dont know if it has reoccurred.
You may try the Thunderbird branded version with OAuth 2.0.
