As the message suggests, you don’t have a sent folder assigned.

  1. Navigate to settings > account > folders
  2. Assign a folder name to the ā€œSent folderā€

I presume clicking the ā€œAssign Send Folderā€ button in your screen shot will take you to the same settings page. See here more information.

I am aware. I do not use a sent folder on purpose. That notice never bothered me up until last update.

Could you check if the setting below is enabled and try disabling it.

  • Settings > account > sending mail:

Upload sent messages (upload messages to sent folder after sending)

it is disabled, popup still shows upon sending

What version of the app are you using?

The feature looks to have been scheduled for v15, though not mentioned in the release notes.

I’d recommend raising a bug report on github. A better approach would be where the app takes the status of setting ā€œUpload sent messagesā€ into account, and only displays the confirmation dialog when it’s enabled and a sent folder is unassigned.

I have the same problem. (K9 15.0)

On one account I use, I have removed the sent folder and also disabled ā€œUpload Sent Messagesā€.

I always get this Warning since the last update.

It’s curious, because #9912 explicitly mentions issue #6276 where the proposal actuall was:

If ā€œUpload sent messagesā€ is checked but ā€Sent folderā€œ is ā€œAutomatic (None)ā€ show a warning message when the user tries to send an email.

So the initial feature definition already included the conditional.

Same problem. Sent folder is explicitly set to ā€œnoneā€ - changed from automatic.

As previously suggested, create an issue ticket on github and see what feedback the developers provide. It might be that they overlooked the sent message setting, or have a reason for not taking it into account.
