Select *Only* Unread Messages

I have 500 unread Email in a 5,000 Email inbox. How can I select only unread to “mark as read”? I have done this in past versions/phones, but I find no facility to execute now.

Older threads on this topic seem dead / out-of-date.

If you want to mark all messages in a folder as read, you can go to that individual folder (doesn’t work in the unified inbox) and select “Mark all as read” from the menu. That will mark all messages in that folder as read. For IMAP accounts it will also mark messages as read that fall outside of your sync window, i.e. ones that haven’t been downloaded to the device.

Thank you for your response.

I knew that “select all” was available, but in my case “mark as read” on 5,500 messages either bogs-down my device (best case), or crashes K-9 (worst case).

I know I used to be able to select “unread” in the past. Has that capability been lost or am I missing something?

Do not use multi-select. Use the “mark all as read” menu that cketti described
