That’s usually something you want to configure on your mailbox server, not on your client. Otherwise, you have to deal with the filters on every single device and keep the filters in sync.
This is true for paid mail services. On free of charge email accounts service provider sends ads which cannot be filtered using account settings.
Well … of course filters can be set, but they won’t work for provider’s ad mails.
That’s why I’d love to get filtering possibilities like thunderbird has as K9 would get rid of ad mails sent by mailbox provider.
