Repeated failure to send email

Hi, I’m a beta tester on Google Play and have left this feedback there but I don’t get a reply from the developer. Copied and pasted.

have a recurring glitch where an email will fail to send. Not dependant on internet connection; it happens on and off various WiFi networks and different cell networks. “Failed to send some messages GaiException: android getaddrinfo failed: EAI
NODATA (No address associated with hostname)” Is there any timeframe when Thunderbird for mobile will be coming? look forward to every update to this app in anticipation. Thanks!

As the beta version is exactly that, a beta, you won’t get support through reviews on the Play Store. Head over to the git repo and open an issue there.

Thunderbird has been released for Android a while ago. Just use the search in Play Store.

The error message relates to resolver issues, most likely DNS. It seems, your device is unable to resolve the IP of you mail server.

Who is your hoster? Does your server have a fixed IP and valid A or AAAA records? Or is it using DDNS?

Ah okay, I specifically signed up for the beta program to help with the transition to Thunderbird and expected some sort of announcement or update to get Thunderbird that you say is released now? Weird how they have the beta program open on Play if they’re not monitoring it.

A bit disappointing to know I could’ve had this a while ago if the developer had communicated better.

I’ll download it now, thanks.
