Read mails are marked as unread after downloading complete message

Hello, since a few weeks (seems it started with v6.301) I have this bug:

Open unread mail, click on “download complete message” and then close message (go back), then it is still marked as unread.
Open downloaded message again and close it, then it is finally marked as read.

I found out, that when I open (not downloaded) message and close it, then it is marked as read, but when I open it and click on “download complete message” and close it, the message is marked as unread again.

Actually behaviour should be like it was in the past: Opened emails should be marked as read no matter if I download the complete message or not.

Galaxy S10, Android 12, k9mail v6.301

Cannot reproduce this on 6.303 on my S7 edge.

Problem still exist on 6.302 and 6.303.

Have the same problem, actually used version is 6.307.
But this issue is only at one of my two furnished mail accounts, it’s a pop3. The IMAP account is without this issue.

Yes, I’m using pop3 accounts. All of them have this issue. So could be only pop3 related.

Issue is still there with the latest final.
