I updated (from I think 11.1) to 12.1 (Android 12 on Fairphone 4, via F-Droid).
Now, on startup, only a “Unified Account” is shown, with only its Unified Inbox. No other mailboxes are shown, including the Inbox or other IMAP mailboxes that my mail gets sorted into, or the Sent and other special boxes. In Manage folders → Folder settings, these folders have “Show folder” enabled, and some also “Show in top group”. Fiddling with these folder settings does not help.
I found a post on this forum for a vaguely related problem suggesting to uncheck “Auto-detect IMAP namespace” under Account settings → Fetching mail → Incoming server settings, but that doesn’t fix this problem either.
How do I fix this? Is this a known bug?
Additional notes:
Under “Manage folders”, all folders are shown.
The IMAP prefix has always been empty.
Some of the folders are subfolders; some of the INBOX, which itself also contains mails, some of another folder called “import”.
I already used the Unified Inbox before the update; the Unified Account looks like a new feature to me?, which I think I would want to turn off. I have only one account configured.
Some more clicking on the circle with my initials in the left column now shows my own account instead of the Unified Account. I am 100% certain I have tried that several times before, but somehow now it does something. All folders can now be expanded and shown.
The remaining issue is that K9mail keeps wanting to switch back to that Unified Account when I press the back button to go the main folder, hiding all my folders so I need to explicitly switch to my own account to see them again. I can live with that, but hope it will be fixed in a soon upcoming version.
Yes, i guess that’s the best solution for now. I liked the unified inbox as it existed in previous versions, but currently the interface is a bit too circuitous.
