Notifications are silent!

Updating to version 13.0 broke new mail messages. Even though I had assigned sounds for each account, they NEVER play. I have tried EVERYTHING! Using a different sound, NOTHING! Assigning sounds as a ringtone, got a NOTIFICATION ERROR, tried clearing cache & data then importing settings (had to reassign sounds again because they aren’t included in backed up settings) , SILENT NOTIFICATIONS, tried clearing cache & data again but didn’t import settings, again, SILENT NOTIFICATIONS. Before anyone asks, I’m using an older Samsung phone from 2018 running on android 9 (Pie) and, NO, I don’t have “QUIET TIME” turned on nor did I have DON’T DISTURB mode on either.

I have no idea what the reason could be for you, but on my Oneplus 9 Pro with an A15 custom rom the custom notification sounds I assigned each account are still working fine.

Maybe A9 is the reason - let’s hope someone else with such an old device will chime in :wink:

What? No idea what you thought I meant, but I was simply hoping that others also have old devices, would be reading this topic and might be able to help.

There’s a bug described below discussed on github with an associated fix scheduled for v14.

Could this bug and criteria be applicable in your case, or do you think you have a different issue?

During quiet time hours (whether “Quiet Time” was enabled or not…) notifications were silent or not displayed at all when “Disable notifications” was checked.
Outside quiet time hours, all notifications had sound and vibrations.

That’s a possibility. It does sound like what’s going on with me, however, I do not have “disable notifications” checked under Quiet Time.
