Not getting emails

I use k9 mail, it stopped receiving emails on July 2nd, 2025. K9 is updated, cache cleared, restarted my phone, nothing works. Plz help me receive my emails again ASAP!

When you refresh manually, do you get the mails?

Any error messages?

When you go for Account settings / Fetching mail / Incoming server

Check entries and press Next button. Does that work or do you get any error?

Sending mails does work?

For some email providers, for example legacy AOL and Verizon accounts, IIRC, there is a limit to how many messages can be stored locally when accessing the account using IMAP. After you pass that limit, maybe a few hundred messages, they keep accumulating on the server, but they are not downloaded until you delete some from your local cache.

Does that sound like what might be happening?

If so, you can start by purging your local trash and spam folders and see if some new messages suddenly appear in your inbox when you refresh. It may take a little while.

If that helps, your next step would be to log into your mail provider’s email website and do some serious housecleaning.

To keep it from happening again on a regular basis, I urge (or plead with) my clients to aggressively unsubscribe from all the junk email they get.

Hope something there hits the mark for you.

If tr3’s scenario applies, you can also reduce the timeframe that Thunderbird/K-9 fetches from the server. E.g., 30 days.

I had to refresh my memory.

AOL, YAHOO, Netscape, and some other legacy mail domains have a 10,000 message limit over IMAP in any folder, most importantly, the inbox. The limit does not apply to the hosted folder itself.

There is a good discussion here, including a workaround by changing the IMAP server name:

https://support.mozilla.org/gu-IN/questions/1382175

Note that this workaround still carries a limit of 100,000 messages per folder.

For Yahoo:

I tried doing that. It didn’t work. There was no 30 day option to change it to.
anything else?
Ii really need to access my emails! Thx

Did you try what I proposed?
