like the title i have no menu to choose which storage i want, no menu to choose a ringtone for my mailbox.

Hello. Unfortunately, you forgot to mention which K-9 Mail version you’re using. I’m guessing a 5.7xx beta version.
Storing the message database somewhere other than internal storage is no longer supported. And really it was only working as expected up until Android 2.x. So it was about time we removed this “feature”.
On modern Android versions you configure notifications via Android’s settings UI. You can get there from K-9 Mail via Settings > [account] > Notifications > Notification settings. See also:
