Sometimes when I send an email it just sits in my outbox. No matter how many times I go into my outbox and select send messages. If I copy the message and send it as a new email it may go through but the original email will just sit in my outbox until I delete it. It’s like if a message fails to send for any reason it will never be sent.
Device? Android version? K-9 Mail version? Email provider? IMAP or POP3? Any particular settings? the more information provided, the more likely someone will be able to assist.
If a temporary issue causes an email to fail during the send process, the app will try 5 more times to sent it. After the final attempt, the email is flagged as a permanent send failure and will never be tried again until it’s removed from the outbox. The app shows a silent notification (attached) when this occurs. You can give this a sound under the miscellaneous notification category.
You can move the email to the draft folder, then send it again.
