Mail delivery failed: text truncated and noname file attached

I am very thankful for K-9 :grinning:
and I am using Version 8.0 with Android 13 (Samsung Galaxy A32).

When I receive mails
Mail delivery failed

a) The text truncated and

b) “noname” file attached, which I cannot open on my mobile phone.

What can I do to read the text and reason for the failed mail delivery?

Welcome to the K-9 Mail Community.

The text and reason for the failed mail delivery is shown in your attached image.

550 This message was classified as SPAM and may not be delivered

The receiving MTA has made a policy decision to refuse your message and has labeled it as spam. You will need to contact the postmaster at the destination if you disagree with their determination.

Thanks, linkp

In this case, you can read the last line
550 This message was classified as SPAM and may not be delivered

My question is generally (in case it is eg. not SPAM)

  • how can I read the whole text (which is truncated)
  • how can I open and read the “noname” file ?

If I read the (same) mail on my PC:

  • the text is not truncated
  • there is no “noname” file

Why is the K-9 mail app:

  • truncating the text?
  • attaching a “noname” file?

K-9 Mail isn’t doing that. Your email provider is sending you this message to let you know it wasn’t able to deliver a certain message. It doesn’t include the whole content because it’s a message you’ve sent. You should know what it says and ideally still have a copy of it in your Sent folder.

My question is generally (in case it is eg. not SPAM)

  • how can I read the whole text of the error message (which is truncated ONLY with K-9)
  • how can I open and read the “noname” file ? or is the noname” file the mail message I had sent?

If I read the (same) mail on my PC:
a) Webmail
b) Thunderbird

  • the text is not truncated
  • there is no “noname” file

Why is the K-9 mail app:

  • truncating the text of the error message?
