K9-Mail notification on Garmin smartwatch but no subject

Hello,

I currently use a Garmin Fenix 3HR and would like to have email notifications displayed on it.
Notification of new emails works, but only the sender and email account are displayed.
When I access everything via Gmail, the subject of the incoming email is also displayed.
Is there a setting in K9 Mail to also display the subject line?
I switched to Thunderbird yesterday, but the behavior is identical; there’s no subject on the smartwatch.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I use TBird on my Oneplus 9 Pro with an A15 custom rom on it and have a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 connected. When I get an email on my phone the watch shows pretty much the whole email (I usually just swipe it away so not sure if it’s the whole email or just parts). But it’s definitely more than just sender and email account. But I never had to explicitly set/enable that or anything, so maybe a Garmin just shows notifications differently?

I use Thunderbird on a number of Sony devices running LineageOS for microG. I have a Garmin Fenix 6s Solar, and run Garmin Connect on the phones. I see email notifications on the watch which include, Sender, Recipient acccount (I have several email accounts), email subject, and the first few lines of the email body.

So it’s not a Thunderbird problem. Maybe a limitation of your watch (which is quite an old model)

The strange thing is, it works when I check my emails with the Gmail or Outlook app, but not with Thunderbird.
Therefore, I didn’t think it was due to the Garmin smartwatch?
