K-9 update failing

I downloaded K-9 from the F-Droid repo.
All my F-Droid apps are updated by F-Droid, except K-9 which figures in the Gplay updating list.
When I —reluctantly— try to update K-9 there it won’t work.
What is the logic behind this, how does Google interfere with F-Droid?

Welcome to the K-9 Mail Forum.

The Play Store and F-Droid have incompatible signatures. If you wish to change sources, you will need to uninstall the conflicting version first.

Without additional information, it’s anyone’s guess as to what may be failing in your upgrade effort.

The following details may help:

Android version
F-Droid version
K-9 version currently installed
K-9 version you want to install
Error message

I downloaded K-9 on F-Droid.
I’m surprised to see that it figures in an update list of Google Play, where I didn’t download it.
That’s all.

I guess I’ll wait until F-Droid reminds me to update when it has a new version waiting.

I have a few applications that I install from F-Droid that are also available via Google Play. I set them to skip updates in Google Play.

Thanks.
My K-9 is an F-Droid download, but it is Google Play that —uninvitedly— shows a ‘working’ update button giving an error message: no update.

So I have two options:

  1. I de-install K-9 and re-install it from F-Droid.
  2. I wait for an F-Droid update, which could be a waste of time —see above.

Thanks.
My item of failing updates, signatures, intrusion by Google et cetera is being discussed for quite a while already…
