Hi, I’m using K-9 mail v.14, and I can’t seem to get K9 to auto-sync my email accounts in the background. Plus (2nd issue) when I manually refresh my “unified account”, the “non-primary” folders of my accounts do not update. I need to manually go into each folder and update them one at a time…
When I go to Settings > [One account] > Fetching mails, I have the following settings:
Local folder: 2 500 mails
Sync emails: latest week
Fetch mails until: every size
Sync frequency: 15 min.
The K-9 app on my phone has the “running in the background” setting enabled.
if you go into the particular account, choose the menu, then select Manage Folders, you should be able to set each folder to sync, or enable push, or notify, or unify. Do you have that sync option set for your non-primary folders?
I think if you create a new folder on the server, the default behavior in K9 is to not sync. You’ll have to enable it.
Actually, you can only create folders on the server side. It likely prevents a collision and potential resolution case if one on each side with the same name is created.
If you want the devs to make a multi-folder select functionality, drop a github issue in the project (or thunderbird mobile project). I can’t think of a clean way to do it, as any of the folder options could cross-apply. And hopefully setting the options is not a frequent or even repeat event.
