Is it possible to turn off automatical marking as read?

I would like to manually mark each e-mail as read. I could not find the setting nor could I google it out. Is it possible?

Did you try Settings / < account > / Reading mail / Mark as read when opened?

If you uncheck this then mails should no longer marked as read when you opened them for reading. Now you have to mark them manually with the envelope symbol as read/unread.

At least this is the case for Beta 5.909.
