Isn’t the Playstore always much later? Not sure, I’ve always just installed the Github version
I just talked to one of the release engineers about this a couple days
ago. It can take up to a week for it to get to your device, from when
its “available” in the Playstore or on Github, for a variety of reasons.
But I am still on 10.1 - this is not even 11 where all happened withe the interface
But Version 11 should long be there, right?
Yea you’d think lol. That’s why I use Github/others whenever any app has that option. Playstore/Google are way too slow, plus they impose restrictions other places don’t have.
I’m told the update rate has been set especially low the last few
weeks. Tomorrow it goes to 100% for v11, so you should get it soon.
Cool - today I got my K-9 update from 10.1 to 11.1
I have v11.1 on a Pixel 9 Pro. The message list looks bleached. Contrast is poor for both read and unread. Read messages are still important to me – many are part of ongoing work – but their entries in the list have very little contrast. There has to be a better way.
Got update to v11.1
What did you DO ??? Read mail list looks absolutely horrible now (on amoled screen, dunno about IPS) with that ugly grey color. It should be pitch black !!!
Please reverse (make unread mails grey, and read ones pitch black). Or allow users to modify colors themselves.
For me currently usibility changed from OK to WTFFFFFFFFFFFF
The update looks better than the last one but still not as good as it was before all this madness started..
We had readable differential between read and unread then it went impossible and now it’s clear we can see read and unread emails but struggle to read the text on read ones.
Please devs go and load up 10.1
See what the colouring of read and unread emails look like
Then set it like that.
You have to understand that we are all different so the best settings are the ones people are not screaming to change
Or give us the options to do it
I love 11.1! I use dark mode, and differentiating read from unread has always been a problem, across multiple phones and years. Now, finally, I can tell at a glance. Read are harder to re-read, but I can just tap to revert to unread state if I need to. Mostly I don’t, so the improved differentiation is far more of a feature than a bug. Really appreciate devs for this change!
agree, in dark mode, now you cannot make a difference between selected and read.
I have to agree that in dark mode , the 11.1 is totally broken . please make it as an option
I really don’t like this 11.1 update. It was working just fine in dark mode on my phone, it was more easy for me to distinguish between read and unread before this update.
Can we please get an option in settings to select old or new background as it’s obvious there is different in opinion and there maybe are differences depending on theme/phone.
It looks like they are already fixed it. But fixing means update pipeline…
Agreed.
The contrast is too high with the font used in dark mode. As others have mentioned, would like to go back to pre 11/11.1. it was working just fine.
Just can’t please all the people all the time.
Mine updated just a couple days ago from 10 to 11.1 and the message list seems more the reverse from v10. Read messages were more solud black (I use dark mode in K-9) and new ones were shaded. Now old one are shaded and new ones are solid black, hate it! Also when reading messages it seems like the render engine has been updated, all my messages, even the older ones, seem more colourful now, like its maybe handling HTML different. Not sure if i like it but im gonna have to get used to it I guess. But as far as the subject list colors it does have to be reverted back no questions asked and no doubt about it!
The question is, why was it even necessary to make changes at this point, since everything was actually perfect. I don’t think anyone has complained much about having problems with readability. If people are suddenly complaining that it’s significantly worse than before, then that’s more than just a signal to discard the changes.
Personally, I also find it catastrophic that the color of the read emails is simply too muted and that it’s difficult to recognize selected emails.
I believe that one should also be able to easily acknowledge that a certain — surely well-intentioned — change has simply gone wrong.
