IMAP set up on Ionos.com platform

I am having trouble setting up my incoming server parameters on my Samsung S22 Ultra. Below is a screen shot of the settings. My ISP says my settings are all correct. However, I keep receiving an error message. Screen shots of the setting page & error message are attached.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Eric

Should be port 993 for IMAP, I think?

Below please find the settings & corresponding error message. BTW, the funny part is the outgoing server settings is not a problem & am able to transmit emails but not receive.

That’s not surprising: sending emails uses SMTP, over a different connection than reading emails, which uses IMAP.

I can’t see what’s wrong, so hopefully a k-9 developer may be able to help.

I remember a few years ago ionos made some changes to their POP server, which required a code change in k-9, but this is IMAP (which is much better anyway).

Thank you for getting back to me. Since nothing has worked, I decided to re-install the K9 email client from scratch.

In that process I found out that Thunderbird just came out with a re-badged & re-skinned version of K9 Mail (now called Thunderbird Mobile). I downloaded the new app & installed it with the default IONOS settings.

It worked!!! Now it receives & sends emails like a charm.

Thank you all for the suggestions & trouble shooting ideas.
