How to complete OAuth 2.0 configuration for imap.gmail.com via Google Workspace

Hi all,
I’m using K-9 6.804 on a Google Pixel 7 Pro with imap.gmail.com as my incoming server to fetch mail from a Google Workspace gmail account with aliases. I’m trying to switch the authentication method over to OAuth 2.0 but can’t seem to complete it. My email address login to imap.gmail.com is necessarily a different address (from Google Workspace) than the gmail address I use to login in to the phone. (That’s because I have several aliases configured to that imap address in Google Workspace.)

Here’s what happens:

  1. I change authentication to OAuth 2.0 and press NEXT
  2. I am asked to Please sign in and press the blue button “Sign in with Google”
  3. I am then taken to a screen saying I am signed in to Google as ***@gmail.com, which is my Google login for the phone. (But as stated above, my login email to the imap server is a different address from Google Workspace.)
  4. At this point, what do I do next? I don’t see any place that says give K-9 access either here or if I click on the options on the screen. The options on the screen are “***@gmail.com, Manage your Google Account, Add Account to Device, Sign out and turn off sync”

That’s because you are logged in to that account in your browser. Either switch accounts on the prompt (not all accounts support it) or explicitly log out on your browser so that you can conduct a clean log-in.

Oh yes, of course. Worked fine after doing that. Thanks!
