Getting very slow

Hello.

I have been using K-9 for several years now. This is really a great app.
However the last few interface changes made the app very slow. There is not much functionality change that would explain this behavior.
Two elements are very annoying.:

  • very long folder loading,
  • extremely slow read/unread update.

In the latter case, does it sync read status with server anytime it is changed?

Any tips how to speed it up? Some settings?

Try turning off “name from contacts”. Maybe your contacts system app is slow.

Thanks for tip. However I have this option off from the beginning.

I had the same problem, took ages to fetch the emails.

I turned on and off the push setting and it seems to have solved the problem, for now anyway.

I don’t use push so its off now.

Hi. Thanks for your message. In my case I use POP3 and push option is related only to IMAP, I guess. Anyway I can’t find an option like push in the account settings.
