Get immediate notification for some emails

I’m a long time user of K9 (and Kaiten..), no real issues, great app,

but, now I have a ‘special need’, need to be aware of certain time sensitive emails

my thought was: I’ll create a new account, set a filter on mail server to copy such emails to new account, configure new account on K9 for ‘immediate retrieval’ and notifications, done.

hmm, can’t find PUSH in settings ?

set refresh IDLE to 2min

set poll frequency to 15min

sent some test emails directly to new account - so far it takes around 15min or longer till I get sound/email is received ?

where am I going rwong ? if there are better suggestion to accomplish this, please let me know, TIA

Push is configured on a per folder basis.

Click here to see the push setup guide on Mozilla’s Knowledge base.

To summarise the steps.

  1. Press the top left hamburger menu button.
  2. Select the applicable email account.
  3. Click “manage folders” at the bottom left of the screen.
  4. Press the applicable folder name / icon to see it’s properties.
  5. Toggle “Enable Push”

Grant the app permission to manage alarms when prompted.

ahhh.. Thanks! yes, instant or almost instant (from when sent from another device)

I might revert other settings (IDLE and poll) to defaults

hmm, so I can probably send these emails into a sub folder rather another account, I’ll try that as well.

(hmm, tried to tick ‘solution’ but get ‘an error occurred’ - though, it seemed to get the tick)
