When I select some one or more mail a folder looking ting a box with a down arrow appears top right. If I press it the selected mail disappears from the current folder. Where did it go? What does that icon do?
You can long-tap actions in the toolbar to get a popup with a textual description. Works in basically all apps 
It is the archive feature. The selected mail is moved to the archive folder.
Ahh, thanks. That long press feature had totally skipped my attention.
