I love K9, used it for years, thank you very much for it.
I spent an hour+ writing a long email this evening. It is there in Drafts, nearly finished. However, whenever I tap it to access it, K9 crashes.
I have tried emptying the app’s cache, to no avail. It is K9 version 8.1 which seems to be the most recent, so I can’t update. I had hoped I could “forward” the draft of something, but there’s not that option. I’m a bit stuck.
Is there any way of accessing the text I wrote, do you think? Or is it a lost cause?
If K9’s Drafts folder is synchronized with your email account, you can view drafts stored in your email account from your desktop browser or cell phone browser.
Or, if you are using the account in your desktop email client, check to see if it is saved in your Drafts folder.
Try triggering the crash again and then go to settings → general → debugging → 3-dot menu → export logs. That file should contain more information about the crash. If you post that file, the developers can have a look at the crash.
Sadly this is a POP3 account rather than IMAP, so it doesn’t sync with my email account.
I attach a log file, of me invoking the crash both with debug logging enabled and when it disabled. There’s one email address in there I’ve redacted, otherwise it is untouched.
