I archive email on my NAS server in .eml format
Since K9 mail is open source I expected that it could ope .eml.
The only options are open docume t reader and gmail.
When i use open document reader i get the message do you want to use another app and more apps are shown to chose from.
Why not k9? Does k9 not support .eml

no K9 does not support .eml files, it is delegated to some other app, e.g phones standard mail app or EML viewer if you installed it.
Open source only means that source is open for all to look at. It does not tell about supported features.
