Since the last update (v8.0) the folder list takes a lot of space. As I am using a compact phone I would really prefer having a more compact list as we had in the last version.
Yes please! I don’t have a particularly small phone, but I have a lot of folders, and the spaced . out . list makes it twice as far to scroll as it used to.
I’m not one to complain after every UI update; often they take me by surprise, but I get used to them. But whitespace / padding is something designers need to be really careful with on a mobile app, where the requirement is to display a lot of information on a small screen.
On the other hand, maybe some people will like it. I have the message list set to “Compact” in the settings; without it, the message list has similar double-spacing, and there’s even a less compact option. Maybe that option could be extended, or a new one added, to customise the folder list? More developer work, but more people happy maybe?
