  1. What version of K-9 or Thunderbird are you using?
  2. Which mail provider is authentication failing on? e.g gmail, hotmail etc.
  3. Have you tried logging into your mail providers web portal with the same password to confirm there’s no issues.
  4. Is the mail an enterprise or school account such as Office365?
  5. Are you using the automatically detected Imap or pop settings, or changing any details?
  6. Can you share an image or details of the exact error message, redacting any personal details.
