"Can't update read-only contacts."

In K-9 (v6.804 on Samsung Galaxy S21 with Android 14) I regularly add new addresses from or to which mails have been sent to existing contacts in my address book (Nextcloud on Synology NAS, synced through DAVx5). This used to work fine until this morning. If, now, I try to add a new address to an existing contact, a pop-up reads “Can’t update read-only contacts.” The address book definitely isn’t read-only. It is read-write in DAVx5 and I can edit the contacts in Samsung Contacts and update them to Nextcloud without any problem. What’s more: if I change something in an existing contact, either in Samsung Contacts, in Nextcloud, or in Thunderbird on my laptop, and sync the address book, the changed address CAN be used to supplement with a new mail address from K-9. It looks like K-9 considers all the contacts in the active address book that are older than today as “read-only”. Does anybody recognize this?

K-9 Mail launches the contact app to add/modify contacts. Please contact Samsung about the problem in their contact app.
