On my new Samsung phone, I usually don’t get the icon to create an email. I don’t see any way to force it to appear. Please advise!
What version of Android? What version of K-9 Mail? IMAP or POP3 account (even though outgoing mail is usually SMTP)? In either case, what settings? Any particular settings for Android? The more details provided, the more likely someone will be able to assist.

It is Android version16, and K-9 Mail version 16.1. The incoming server is IMAP, and the outgoing is SMTP. The type of server doesn’t appear relevant, since the error occurs before any attempt to address the server. i just opened K-9 to get this info, and the missing icon appeared. I haven’t yet debugged what status makes it fail to appear.
The compose icon is hidden when you scroll down, and displays again when you scroll up.
If your experiencing is different, is there any condition or sequence that triggers the issue so we can try and reproduce it.
