Cannot sent eMails anymore

For about one week, eMails are not sent anymore. Account parameters are correct, eMail provider cannot detect any failure in their systems. k9 has got all updates. What can I do?

Details help - K-9 version, phone/Android version, server settings and error message for example.

settings:
smtp.1und1.de
SSL/TLS
Port 465
Normal pass word
No certificate

1und1 says everything is in good order from their side.

Step through the sending server to make sure the setting is ok.

Settings | account | Sending mail | Outgoing server | Next

Does that work as expected?

Their help page says “Bitte beachten Sie: Aktivieren Sie für den Postausgangsserver (SMTP) die SMTP-Authentifizierung.”

Did you do that? I don’t see it mentioned in your settings. I’m not with 1&1 so no idea - I found this through a Google search.

IMAP (recommended):

  • User Name — full email address
  • Server Name — imap.1and1.com
  • Type — IMAP
  • Port — 993
  • Security — SSL/TLS

Outgoing Email Settings

  • Server Name — smtp.1and1.com
  • Port — 587
  • Security — STARTTLS (if this doesn’t work for you, try SSL/TLS)

Concrete K9 version (“latest” is not a version)
Mail provider
Pop3 or IMAP
Phone manufacturer and Android version
Better description of the error scenario.

Do try going into the settings for that account/server, find Sending Email, next is Outgoing Server, and click next. You’ll hopefully see it’s verified; if not, an error. And if error, share it.
