I have been using K-9 for many years with no real issues. I run several pop3 accounts with K9 set not to remove messages from the server on my mobile k9 App and only delete from K9 when the message on the server is deleted from my PC that uses Outlook. Being a bit of a relic myself I still use Outlook 2010 rather than the Microsoft data grabbing current outlook version. Recently the K9 icon on my mobile app shows a red badge (i.e, there are unread messages). However I have gone through all the inboxes and there no unread messages in any of the email accounts. I have also emptied all the trash folders and deleted any old Drafts in the draft folders. When I “select all” in each account and then mark as “read” it appears that only visible messages (including the ones off screen) are marked up to the inbox folder limit (100 in my case). To mark ALL the messages off screen) I have to load another 100 and mark them “read” and so on until I get to the end of the messages held on the mobile app and Load another 100 stops working. I assume that at this point all the messages in the inbox are not “visible” to the “mark as read” option. I have domes this for all accounts. However the red badge it still there ? When I look at each accounts folders there are no numbers next to the inbox, trash or drafts so that part of K9 seems to work ok ( but I still get the red badge. Having not had this issue before I wondered what else could trigger the red badge on the K9 icon ? I also have unified inbox enabled does this have a bearing on the presence of the red badge ? Any advice would be much appreciated. I run my own server as I work on confidential information that has to avoid public exposure, so I avoid “the cloud” servers and utilise standalone software .
