I’m using K9 on Samsung S7 for 5 years now. With version 5.8 the app is now running in the background after opening it once. This leads to high power consumption. This can only be changed by forcing the app to stop. It’s the same for 5.800 and 5.801. Android 8.0.0, Samsung experiance version 9.0. Any idea how to overcome the behaviour?
There’s a bug that causes the app to send commands to the server in a loop when Push is configured, but the server doesn’t support the IMAP IDLE extension. Disable Push (for that account) to make the app usable again.
K-9 Mail 5.802 will automatically disable Push for an account if the server doesn’t support Push.
