Would it be possible to either revert to or at least provide a setting for displaying attachments on top, rather than at the bottom of e-mail messages?
Especially in the case of longer messages, having attachments on top is much more practical, since otherwise one has to scroll down the entire message (which could contain lots of quoted text that one does not need to read at the moment) to get to the attachments.
Having the option to display attachments on top would also be more consistent with desktop e-mail clients.
Yes, very good point indeed. Sometimes the correspondention is really long and then you have to scroooooool down to find the attachment. In fact I was quite surprised by this unpleasant problem in this really fast and all over comfortable mail client.
I see this comment and request to put attachments at the top of an email chain is four years old, so I guess this change request is either not a high priority or it has been rejected. That is very unfortunate.
I want to use K-9 mail but the attachment at the end of a long email chain makes it virtually unusable to me. The lower emails in the email chain are indented, resulting in earlier emails in the chain displaying only a few letters per line or in some cases even one letter per line. This makes the email chain very long as displayed, and as a result, scrolling down to the bottom of the chain is virtually impossible on a cell phone.
Bottom line, I cannot reasonably read or save attachments on any email that is in a longer email chain.
