All my emails from the inbox are no longer available

Hello,

I have been using K9 for years without any problems. However, I am now facing the following annoying issue: yesterday, all emails from all my email accounts disappeared from the inbox, without any settings being changed or modified. The last 27 emails from each account can be found in the archive folder, but all other emails are also no longer located in the archive folder. I had over 200 emails in each account, including some very important ones that I urgently need to recover. How can I get the emails back into the inbox?

Is this a bug in the new version? As I mentioned, I haven’t changed any settings. Is this problem known?

I urgently request timely support so that I can quickly recover all my emails.

If you log into the web interfaces of these email accounts, do you see more email messages there than you see in K-9?

Thank you for your response.
In the web interfaces of the accounts they are always only available for 60 days after download to K9 and Thunderbird. But up to the date of this problem. There are been a lot of old (few years) emails which disappeared now. I didn’t change any setting of K9. Last revision update of K9 was done arround 10 days ago.
Are the emails still stored in the K9 database on my mobile?

Are you using an IMAP connection to have K-9 work with the mail server?

It doesn’t sound like it and I fear you are using POP3. If you are using POP3, I’m not sure where your mail went. POP3 isn’t recommended - if you search this forum you’ll find threads advising against it given there’s no way to get messages exported out of K-9 off your phone.

I’m using IMAP (imap.gmx.net) as inbox server for each account.
I don’t know how the mails can be loosen respectively moved to Archiv Folder without doing any change of settings at K9. Never had this problem before. Is there really no way to get the [important] mails back?

If you are sure the emails moved from Inbox to your Archive folder, I’d recommend going online and moving them back to your Inbox. You might be able to do this on K-9, but might have to do it in chunks depending on your folder count limit on the device.

There might have been some criteria to move on the server side, such as older than 90 days or 120 days or something like that?
