added a 4th account, and now no accounts will work

I have been using K-9 Mail for years with three verizon.net email accounts. Two days ago, I added a fourth account and now I cannot check mail on any of the accounts. When I refresh to check email, it just spins and never does anything. No other software updates or config changes. K-9 v9.0, Samsung Galaxy S21, Android v15.

I have removed the new account, and it still does not work. Something broke!

I’ve been trying all of the normal troubleshooting steps that I can think of for the past 48 hours. Randomly, I have stumbled upon this arbitrary sequence that sometimes works so I’m not completely broken, but it just doesn’t make sense.

This is what works occasionally:

  1. swipe down to initiate checking mail
  2. immediately toggle Wi-Fi
  3. it will download email

It won’t check if I’m on Wi-Fi, and it won’t check if I’m on cellular, but for some reason the check will trigger when the state changes (in either direction) if I can time it right. Even stranger, when it’s successful, I can immediately try again and it will just spin and never connect.

Any ideas? I’d love to look at and share some logs if there are any, but I’d need some guidance on where to find them.

A log is here. Lines up to 4694 were from a failed refresh, and all lines after are for a partial success using the immediate toggle I mentioned.
