Accidentally sent inbox to spam; all deleted instantly! SOLVED!

Help! What to do about this?

Husband accidentally tapped the wrong spot while checking email and it was instantly gone. Login on web shows nothing. What do we do?

I have his old phone with K9, which has not logged in in a month. Also Yahoo app (it’s an old ATT/Yahoo address), if either of those would help.

Thank you!

Edit: Found the problem, in case it helps anyone else. The Spam folder seems to be local to the phone. I checked folder settings and Spam’s Folder poll class is “None” (this appears to be the default). Does this mean it does not sync with the server?

Husband tried to move a couple of messages into Inbox, but they didn’t show up on webmail. He then forwarded the Spam messages to himself and all is well. Plus duplicates of the original tests, so sync must be slow.

I set up my account (same provider) on K9 to test on my phone and the Spam folder there is called Bulk, just FYI. We both see “Spam” on webmail.

You can change the assigned spam folder in your account settings in K-9 Mail. You may want to enable an extra confirmation step in the Interaction settings to make a repeat occurrence more difficult.
