My folder names don’t go to second lines like the original poster had. That might be a font sizing issue if you changed your system font size.

I have 16 accounts set up in K-9 and Thunderbird. I can tap the email address in the top area to move to the next email account and take a quick look at the folders and if any new messages are pending. This works for me.
