Messages sitting in outbox and won't send

Since late August K-9 will not send messages from my Samsung S10. I have verizon/aol as the server. I’ve the correct server settings (smtp.verizon.net / 465 / SSL) The error message that pops up is:
NumberFormatException: for input string: “Email”
The K-9 version is 5.806
Any advice on how to fix this before I just use the aol app for my email (i’ve been using K-9 for years!)

This sounds like the outgoing server sends an unexpected response that the app is not able to parse. Can you please record a debug log and open a new issue in our issue tracker? See LoggingErrors · k9mail/k-9 Wiki · GitHub
